Sacred Treasure

Sacred Treasures「Jingi」 are uniquely powerful weapons wielded by the Seven Deadly Sins and were once treasures of the Kingdom of Liones.

Background

Not much is known of the Sacred Treasures but according to King, King Baltra Liones entrusted these weapons to the Seven Deadly Sins when the king of Liones formed them.

After the Seven Deadly Sin's betrayal 10 years ago, some of the Sacred Treasures were lost to fate: Meliodas' Lost Vain was sold to fund his Boar Hat business, Ban's Courechouse was stolen after he intentionally lets himself get captured by the Weird Fangs 5 years ago, and Diane lost Gideon for unknown reasons until she later regained it at Byzel. King, Gowther and Merlin remained in possession of Chastiefol, Herritt and Aldan.

Description

According to King, a Sacred Treasure grants the user to draw out their powers to their full potential. He exemplifies the strength by using the lake and a cup as an comparison for his use of Chastiefol in combat. As Helbram stated that the Sacred Treasures made the Seven Deadly Sins the most formidable group of knights that could surpass even the Holy Knights. Sacred Treasures cannot be picked up and used by anyone but the Sins themselves, although Helbram was able to hold Chastiefol with ease whenbattling King at Byzel.

List of Sacred Treasures

• Meliodas's Sacred Treasure, Lostvayne, is a shortsword.^[11][12]; he sold it, in a Pawn Shop in Camelot, to get money for the Boar Hat^[9]. He later gets it back with the help of Merlin.
• Diane's Sacred Treasure, Gideon, is a war hammer designed for a giant, that is made of a material stronger than steel and weighs approximately 2,200 pounds.^[13] It became the reward of Byzel's annual fighting festival after Diane lost it.^[9] Diane later regained Gideon during the Holy Knights' attack, quickly forcing them to retreat.^[14]
• Ban's Sacred Treasure, Courechouse, is a sectioned-staff. It was stolen during his imprisonment in Baste Dungeon.^[9]
• King's sacred treasure, Chastiefol, is a spirit spear crafted from a sacred tree only found in the Fairy Realm, is much stronger than steel and possesses the mysterious qualities of the tree, which King's ability, Disaster, draws out.^[15] It has several different forms, including a pillow which can act as a shield^[16], different forms of spears^[17][18], and a large stuffed grizzly bear.^[19]
• Gowther's Sacred Treasure, Herritt, are twin bows made of light, which are used in conjunction with Gowther's ability,Invasion. It is capable of shooting multiple beams of light simultaneously.
• Merlin's Sacred Treasure, Aldan, is a small crystal orb. She can summon it anytime via magic.
• Escanor's Sacred Treasure, Rhitta, is a giant battle axe.
